Snowmobile Game
So you may or may not know, but I'm a software engineer in my day job. I can make computer software, web sites, and web applications with the best of them. However, this wasn't my dream. My dream was the create video games. I went directly to school for this. I have a best friend who works for a AAA video game company. Yet here I am, in Billings, Montana not doing what I love.
So I've decided I'm going to attempt to prototype a snowmobiling game. There have been a few games out there, I mostly have them all. Sled Storm, Ski-Doo Racing, a few titles I own on PC that are forgetable. They were fun and decent, but really didn't define snowmobiling at all. You could pull out the sleds and put in ATVs or Motorcycles and the game wouldn't change at all.
I am going to try to change that. I plan on paying for some freelance art to get started. (Get me a good looking snowmobile to use) I want to get all aspects of sledding. The mountain riding, so that include weight transfer, carving, jumping, climbing, not getting stuck, etc..
Its quite the chore but I wanna do what I can to make a fun game out of this.
I'll keep the updates going on this blog for now. We'll see where it goes in the future.

I could get a games job if I wanted it, just I love Billings, Montana and wouldn't leave here.
And sadly no places here. It'd would be nice to change that one day.

I ride snowmobiles whenever I can in the winter and no snowmobile game comes even close to getting the same feel as cruising over powder and hitting some air, I'm also annoyed with how all the snowmobile games are strictly racing and have no exploration or backcountry aspects.
I say go for it and make an awesome game!
i have always wanted someone to make a snowmobile game in the mountains. you could like include characters from slednecks and all that. that would be flipin sweet, the snowmobiles you put on could be like M1000 by arctic cat, RMK's be polaris and all that fun stuff. I think you should do this. it would be a huge hit.
I know plenty of people that would buy a kick ass snowmobiling game. You should definatly try to make one
Hi. At last there are someone that got the same ideas as me. A realy god snowmobile should be like mx vs atv but on snow whit snowmobiles and other physics. The player should be able to choice if he wants to play whit a mountain´snowmobile on the backcountry (freeride) or if he wants to compete in hillclimb, snocross, fsx, enduro mm. bE ABLE TO choice different snowmobiles from the biggest snowmobile trademarks, like ski doo, polaris, arctic cat. Have you started and if you have could i get a picture or two on it. Mail an answer to velunium@gmail.com. I mailed thq some monts ago and asked if they could think about this but i havent got an answer. I thought about making a webside where all that wanted some game maker to make a snowmobile but it were a little bit hard. If you want pictures on snowmobiles you can visit the trade marks websites. wouldnt it be easyer to make a snowmobile mod to mx vs. atv? you should think about that.. :)
Is there any life out there on this topic? I'm an ex sledder because of back injuries and would dearly love to have a game that reflected the unique physics of sledding in the mountains, etc. Any comments out there? Write me at theo25@mac.com
