2008 Arcitc Cat Lineup

Today starts my series on the new lineup of snowmobiles from the big four. I beginning with Arctic Cat because A comes first in the alphabet.

Note: I will only be covering Mountain sleds with this series. A lot is relevant with their flat lander counterparts.

Nothing to "ground-breaking" this year for Arctic Cat. More of the same, which isn't a bad thing.

You have 3 engine lineups, the 600, 800, & 1000. They've lighten up the sleds a bit, 8lbs alone in the rear skid. How? No more rear torsion springs. Yep, a first that I'm aware of. Instead they use a FOX float shocks in a manner no longer requiring the springs. We'll have to wait and see what happens with that this year.

So Arctic-Cat after having a huge 4 stroke new lineup in 2007, didn't introduce a 4 stroke mountain sled like I had hoped for, but they are well built, quality machines that have ruled the mountains for quite some time.

Next time, Polaris, where the only place is up from last few years of forgettable sleds.
